One paper down

So far since I've been back I have written a paper, turned it in, and had one night out on the town (that i seriously could not afford!!). I dont know how well I did on my music essay that I turned in yesterday. However I did receive my theatre essay back on Wednesday and felt that I did pretty well on that one. Thanks to my mom, who found lots of little spelling or grammatical mistakes on my paper, I was able to fix those before heading into town yesterday to print my paper off and meet up with a couple of classmates for a celebration dinner.
Karla, LeeAnn and I ate at a Japanese restaurant, Wagamamas, down off of Grafton Street for a couple of hours. After that we stopped in a pub, Porterhouse, and talked about how Dublin compares to other cities (no, Columbia was not included in that convo). The goal was to eventually meet up with Karla's boyfriend Alan and his friends at a sports bar, but made no rush get there and took our own time. Eventually we headed across the Liffey to the northern side of Dublin, and walked past the Spire. At that point my boots were already making my feet sore :-/ But we eventually made it and met up with Alan and his friends. There was a rugby match going on. Munster vs. an English team. I cheered and made noises whenever everyone else around me did, even though I didnt know what was going on, and I didnt even know which team was which. But when everyone else made noises, I did it too, just to get a laugh out of the girls. We finally found a table and talked over the loud music. I was saying how I'd like to visit Croke Park, Ireland's major stadium in Dublin, and while they were explaining how big it was, apparently I made it sound not that important by explaining how large my university's stadium is (which is bigger - so yea, my school's stadium is bigger than their country's stadium... didnt mean to make it come out like that, tho). After another couple of hours we ended up dancing right where we had been sitting. Guess it's a sports bar-turned-dance club, because they had a dj and the lights went down and they had disco ball lights. When we left around 2, we went to the American-imitation diner called Johnny Rocket's, where I got cheese fries with garlic mayo, and LeeAnn and I left the group around 2:30am, so I could make sure i would catch a cab, and the fact that LeeAnn was taking a little weekend trip to Belgium and her flight left at 7:30am that morning. Needless to say, she didnt get any sleep.

So even tho LeeAnn is off in Belgium at the moment, we have already been figuring out more trips to take this semester. Poland will be the next adventure, just take a short weekend trip to Poland. Why not? It's there. We're here. It just makes sense! haha

As for now, I'm going to enjoy my weekend. I did happen to buy a few eggs and a few small tomatoes so I'm planning my dinner tonight like a breakfast meal. Make a couple scrambled eggs (no cheese, tho :( ), instant grits and a couple broiled tomatoes. Trying to save the 2 bags of ramen I have left!! haha.... aw sad. So that's where i'm at

  1. I think I told you about some clients of mine who have just returned from living in Germany. They LOVE Ireland, and have traveled a lot of Europe. They said that one of their absolute favorite countries is Croatia. I know that sounds random, but what do you think?

We saw "Leap Year" again tonight, and loved the Irish countryside more than ever. Can't wait to see it again!
