Assisi and Siena

The tour took off from the Hotel Diana at 7:15am Monday morning, March 1. It was a rainy morning, which was fun as we dragged our luggage thru the streets unsure of which direction to walk in, and changed directions a couple of times :(

I should mention that this tour was a multi-lingual tour. Half of the group spoke English and half spoke Spanish, so everything we were told was in Eng & Span. Our tour guide repeated everything twice. Each local guide or factory guide all had to speak English and Spanish to keep all of us informed, and they all did a really good job going back and forth between two languages that were not even their own native language... pretty impressive I'd say (tho it did make certain tours longer, just b/c they had to say everything twice)

The ultimate stop was to Florence, but the first 2 stops were in Assisi and Siena. Assisi is this great little mountain top village. I think they said they have 500 people who live in the town. Very hilly. Great views. Cool day but very pretty, as you can see from the blue sky pictures. The video is also at Assisi and the man in the brown leather jacket talking was our tour guide Alessandro.

Just a few picts from Siena. This is the place with the large open square. Bigger town. We ended up 'losing' one of our tourists, Gustavo from Argentina, as he was not wearing a watch and it seemed that I was the only one aware that he was not with the group when we were walking away. We waited in the bus 30 or 40 mins until he finally made his way up there (I just assumed the guide knew he was not there too... My B!). By that time it had started raining, so it was good to be back on the bus.
