Hello again

Hello... so I've been away and been told that my blog is no fun when it isnt updated ;-)

Lets start with Wed. I luckily had a late start. That was nice. I gave myself an hour to get to class, which was just enough time to take a nice stroll. My first class was my Ireland and Theatre seminar. We had the I&T lecture on Tues with all the undergrads, but it was cool because the seminar was just our group. With one girl out sick, there were 5 of us and the Prof. Dad, I think you'd really enjoy the class. Well, lots of you would, but since we are starting with Pre-Christianity theatre, then we are getting a lot of Irish history. There are all these places my Prof is encouraging us to see so we can understand about the folklore. We were given several pieces to read so in the two hours between our classes we spent our time searching the libraries for what we needed. Our next class was Research Methodologies. We were in class with the MPhil Film Studies and Theory. We will sort of learn how to research, but that specific class is geared towards the film studies kids. That class was scheduled from 5-7 but we got out about 5:40. Nice!
So another classmate and I went ahead a little early to the Choral Society. We got settled in and I got my book for the semester. We are going to be performing Mozart's Requiem. Yes sir! And we got right into it. We did a few breathing exercises and just started singing the Latin words. It is bizarre! I signed up to get a CD. They make cds that enhance your part so you can learn the part better. It was quite intense. I look foward to getting the CD cuz I will definitely need to work on this one!!! It amazes me how high the parts are. I could sing lots of the bass notes!! And when the director would call on just the altos to sing, there was one girl who was singing the correct note an octave lower. I dont think she was realizing it. We kept having to sing the same notes over and over cuz one girl couldnt tell she wasnt singing what the rest of the 30 altos were singing!! Then eventually she'd get it and the next time we'd sing again she'd drop back down. That was the same with the basses. They had one guy who would sing an octave lower when they had high notes to sing. I'm very excited about doing this. They even take a trip to Galway, which is pretty cool! My flat mate Caroline is singing with the sopranos and Paul, Maria's fiance, sings with the basses, so I have a number of ppl to talk to already.

There's not much to say for Thursday. I dont have class on Thurs so it's like I have a mid week Saturday. I hung out in my room reading today. I also got to watch this week's America's Next Top Model. Think that's what I'll be watching every Thurs morning. I also caught up on this season's The Office. I had to search thru lots of web sites to be able to watch it. You cant access shows on NBC.com from Ireland.
This evening I went to the CU (christian union) They had another large group meeting. They introduced the student leaders and I got to meet a few more people. We sang the song "Forever" (the worship song, not the Uncle Jesse song) and I could hear Sally's clarinet (correct instrument?) playing in my mind.

Tomorrow I have my one last class for the week. I've got Music and Ireland tomorrow. I'm meeting my classmates outside so we can wander around and try to find the correct class. I'll tell you about once I've gone, but supposedly this Prof is like the foremost expert on Irish Music or something. I dont quite know but I've heard tellings that it is a great thing to be taught by this man... We shall see.

So that's my update on what's been happening.
